In April 2021 Glen Innes Severn Council in collaboration with the community led an EOI to be a NSW pilot site for the Community Connector Pilot program funded by Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal.
The Community Connector Program is the flagship program of Dr Cosgrave's peer-reviewed Attract Connect Stay Framework . The EOI was awarded, and Glen Innes successfully completed the pilot with the support of Dr Cosgrave and her team in December 2022.
In January of 2022, Attract, Connect, Stay – Glen Innes Inc. was established to deliver the pilot program led by founding Chairperson, Sheryn Nourse.
A Healthcare Workforce Recruiter Connector (HWRC) was contracted in July 2022 and commenced attracting and connecting healthcare workforce into the Glen Innes community.
At the June 2023 AGM a new Chairperson - Josephine Enoch - led a new committee to continue funding the HWRC role through membership, fundraising, grants, and donations. This committee initiated a Sustainable Business Plan which is now led by a Board of Directors and delivered by an Executive Manager.
As part of delivering our Sustainable Business Plan we are currently developing a unique service offering that leverages the evidence-based research of the Attract, Connect, Stay framework.
Our Executive Manager, Margot Davis, has completed the Attract, Connect, Stay Launchpad Program under the tutelage of Dr Cath Cosgrave and her unique approach to empower rural resilience wanting to better attract and retain high-quality skilled workers.
If you are a local business struggling to attract and retain a professional workforce and want to be part of a pilot program, please reach out to us.
Local Connect support our local medical practices and surgeries through assisting with the advertising of GP positions for East Avenue Medical Centre, AMH Medical Centre and Armajun Aboriginal Health Service.
Whilst we are not a recruiter, we aim to take some of the pressure off our local surgeries and medical practices in the attraction of GP's.
Through "The Welcome Experience" we are able to provide a free service, funded by the NSW Government, that helps new-to-area Essential Service workers move, settle and connect into the local community.
East Ave Medical Clinic is proud to be a true family practice providing top class healthcare. You will be working in an independent GP owned general practice well supported by experienced rural GPs, practice nurses, administration staff and local allied health services.
